Mesopotamia; Syriac is a name for the area of the Tigris-- Euphrates stream system, equivalent to modern Iraq, Kuwait, the northeastern area of Syria as well as to a much lower level southeastern Turkey and also smaller parts of southwestern Iran.Widely considered to be the cradle of world in the West, Bronze Age Mesopotamia included Sumer and the Akkadian, Babylonian, as well as Assyrian realms, all belonging to the region of modern Iraq.
